Pimpri-Dehugaon: Amit More, Chief Karate Instructor of the M.F. Shotokan Karate Organization, has been selected to receive the prestigious Major Dhyanchand Maharashtra Krida Ratna Award 2025.
Named after hockey legend Major Dhyanchand, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of sports. Major Dhyanchand's birth anniversary is celebrated every year on 29 August as National Sports Day across India.
The award ceremony will take place at Shahu Chhatrapati Cultural Hall, Kolhapur, where Amit Rajaram More will be felicitated with this prestigious honour.
Amit More is originally from Kari village in Satara district. After completing his primary education in a rural area, he continued his higher education in Shivajinagar, Pune. His interest in karate began during his student life, and through dedication and hard work, he has been associated with the sport for more than 30 years.
Over the years, he has represented karate at the state level and has devoted himself to coaching and promoting martial arts. Currently, he serves as the Chief Karate Instructor in Dehgaon, inspiring and training the next generation of karate practitioners.
